Venture Concept No. 2

Opportunity:
Unemployment numbers have reached 41 million in America, the highest since the Great Depression. Some people can’t go back to work yet and others have lost their jobs permanently. There is a huge need for work in America and we are going to take advantage of this need to build a large workforce that is loyal to us and will remain so as long as they are out of work. The nature of the need came about because of the global pandemic and how many companies could not operate since in person work was suspended. Many companies were losing money as result of people being out of work and not putting their money into the economy and so forth. As the virus continued to spread, unemployment numbers have continued to rise and there really is no light at the end of the job tunnel. The opportunity is huge because there are always people who are looking for work, especially now. These people are either coping with no job or have found something for minimum wage. These persons are not overly committed to the place they are currently in and they would most likely opt for something with more money and better benefits than stay where they currently are.  The "window of opportunity" will be open until the country is fully open with a vaccine for the virus. Without a vaccine, I am confident that our company will thrive with people dropping out of their current job and opting for something safer. There are plenty of people who need to support their family and are willing to go above and beyond to find work and we are going to take advantage of these persons and find them places to work.

Innovation:
Jobs4You's innovation techniques are much like those of any modern company today. We are equipped with a website with a wide variety of job options as well as general information about where to find jobs in your local community. One aspect of our company that is particularly innovative, is that we have a section where you can type in your zip code and all the options for jobs are within a certain mile radius and inform you about pay, location, and so on. The way our model works is that we get $50 per employee that we refer to them. This seems like a hefty fee but it is a one time fee and they can keep the worker for as long as they'd like. We require no money for our customers that come to us for work because our mission is to get America back on track! We will make a "profit" in our own form because we will make back enough to pay our employees and support our families while also giving back to the community. Once the pandemic is over, people will be indebted to our company and possibly reward us in some way. We are not looking to become wealthy from this idea rather make some money while also helping get the economy back on track. Jobs4You is a company made for YOU so we feel that this is the best way to accomplish our goals.

Venture Concept:
Jobs4You offer's innovation through finding you a job. Our mission is to make it easier for unemployed persons to find work during the pandemic and even after it comes to an end. Customers will be intrigued to join our company because of our business model that they don't have to give us a percentage of their pay. We collect money through the companies we employ which is how we will stay on top and beat out competitors. Jobs4You would have very minimal employees since our turnover is so small. However, our mission isn't to profit off of people who need the money more than we do, it's to get America back on track. I think customers will appreciate our mission and therefore decide to join our network rather than one that is only seeking monetary compensation. We have many competitors because there are so many job matching websites but none of them do it the same way that we do. We set you up with an advisor who will match you to the job of your choice. This way, it is more personal and the customers get to see what were all about here at Jobs4You. We feel that it won't be difficult to get people to "switch over" to our service because most people that were targeting just lost their job and have not acquired a new job yet. We will need to market ourselves on social media, in newspapers, and even do some target marketing in which we get public records and find those who we know are out of work. We have a clear mission and a clear way to get America back on track which is why we will succeed in the short term.

1) Our secret sauce is that we don't charge customers to use our service it is completely free. This caveat is huge in our industry because you might be asking how we will make a profit. We will charge the companies that need the employees because that's how it should be! These companies will be willing to pay us because of the excess need for work and people dropping like flies due to sickness or fear of sickness.

2) What's next for our venture is to expand into a permanent job matching company where we can charge customers a profit. I feel that we need to start off charging nothing in order to gain market share and loyal customers. Once we have accomplished that we can move to charging new customers to use our now tweaked and improved system one we are up and running for a few months.

3) What's next for me would probably be to continue building up the company until employment is back where it once was. I am not planning on keeping Jobs4You open forever because there may not be a need for jobs at this time. However, I can use the knowledge I have acquired to start a new business that is current with the times.

I didn't receive any feedback from my classmates on this post which makes me think that either I did a really good job and it needed no further comments or that maybe they just chose another one to review! I feel that I did a very extensive job on my first venture concept and really thought out every aspect of my business so I did only minimal changes to my venture concept just based off of re reading and re thinking some of my core ideas.

  1. Hi Emily,
I will say that I sadly hadn’t been able to read any of your previous posts until now, which may be why no one has been able to review your posts. I wish I would have been given the opportunity to watch you grow throughout this course. Your business venture seems very interesting and seems as if it would be very successful.
